'Do I trust the universe and keep him?': Clingy stray kitten meows his way into pawrent's home and heart, leaving her torn between keeping him as a third cat or helping him find another furever family

This feline fairytale started with a surprise ambush… of the adorable kind. While out on a walk, a stray kitten scaled this cat guardian like a tree and refused to be ignored, meowing at their door until they finally gave in. Since then, he's claimed the household as his own, complete with cuddles, intense eye contact, and enough charm to win over both the human and their husband.

The catch? They already have two pampered rescue cats, and adding a third could tip the balance from cozy to chaotic. To buy time, they enrolled him in a foster program with a three-month adoption deadline. If no one claims him, he officially becomes part of the family.

The heart says keep him. After all, he did climb his way in like it was destiny. But the brain says wait and see, because three cats means triple the vet bills, litter, and long-term commitment. Still, when a kitten chooses you, it's hard not to feel like the universe is trying to tell you something. For now, he's got a warm place to stay and a shot at becoming the household's third purring prince.

    I already have two spoiled rescue cats. Last week, a stray kitten literally climbed me like a tree during a walk, followed me home, and screamed at my door until I let him in. Now he acts like he owns the place. He's extremely cuddly and affectionate, makes intense eye contact, and has charmed both me and my husband.

    Problem is, I already have two cats, and a third feels like added responsibility long term. So I enrolled him in a foster program with a 3-month adoption clock. If no one claims him, he's ours.

  • Smart little guy! He knows exactly what he wants and where he belongs. Some cats have a sixth sense for finding the right hoomans and he clearly chose well.

    Bakingsquared80 It's very easy to tell an internet stranger to keep all the kittens. He's adorable and friendly. But you are being responsible and thinking about the long term. Three vet bills can be a lot, you know best if you can afford that

    RandomBoomer Our limit was two cats. Until it was three cats... Until it was four cats... Until it was five and then six cats. We held the line at six because that really was as much as we could handle (and sadly, we're down to four again due to attrition).
